Step into the town of Crayford, a place of mystery and intrigue. Ever so often the rich and powerful meet at a gala to discuss the important topics that shape the realm! … or, more realistically, their city. And this gala is the most important of them all! Lord Henry Crayford, the last member of the influential family that founded this city many generations ago just died without an heir. In his will and testament he asked his estate to host a ball, inviting only the most prestigious and influential people of the city to vote on who will be rewarded with his sizeable lands and, more importantly, his considerable influence in local politics.
So get ready to don your finest, most expensive clothing and mingle with the most elite and high status individuals of all the lands …!
Here you can find all the important information necessary to participate in the event. Below you will also find a recap of all announcements posted in the Whatsapp Newsgroup.
Start: 28.02.2026 at 15:00
End: 28.02.2026 at 21:00
Hauptplatz 23, 4020 Linz
The goal of this event is to decide what to do with the large estate and political vacuum the late Lord Henry Crayford left behind. According to his will, the decision should be a communal one, with many influential people from the city voting on the resolution. HOWEVER this does not mean that this is a winner-takes-all kind of vote, nor that it is only about that. This format leaves a lot of space for secret deals between factions, buying votes with money or favours and to simply advance your own personal agenda.
Towards the end of the event, there will be a large vote on who is (at least officially) rewarded with the Crayford Estate. The vote will be held in secret, everyone with an invitation gets one vote. Your options on the ballot will be the three noble houses of Hartman , Lesyeux and Kostov . There will also be space for a write-in option.
We want this to be an event where everyone can have fun and just forget the real world for a few hours. We want you to be completely immersed in your characters and the roleplaying this entails. Even though there will be an official “winner” at the end of the evening, we want this to be an event where you can leave happy, even though you are from a different faction.
This game will start for every person as they approach the ballroom. The clerk checking your invitation at the entrance is already part of the experience. This is intentional to allow our more unusual guests the opportunity to figure out a way to get into the venue even if they don't have an official invitation.
There will be a buffet with fingerfood as well as small portions of warm foods throughout the event, however, no large-scale meal is planned. We recommend you eat a hearty lunch beforehand. If you need any special food, drink, or medicine, you are welcome to bring it, otherwise we would ask you to place your trust in our caterer.
We expect you to be open to roleplaying, do your best to stay in character and to have fun! Please keep in mind that we are all beginners! If you act in a way you didn’t intent for your character to act we invite you to just roll with it, maybe it will turn into something fun down the line! And if you don’t want that, your fellow players will surely excuse a little retcon here or there :)
This is an evening ball organised by a noble house, so a formal dress code is expected. However, this is still a fantasy world and the definition of formal is very loose. Whatever you choose to wear, the most important thing is always that you are comfortable and that it fits your character.
We also encourage you to disregard the year we put on the invitation a bit, this is just a loose guideline. It is absolutely acceptable to wear a fancy embroidered medieval tunic for the more traditional nobles amongst you or even a nice tailored suit as a more modern businessman. Just be ready for some snide remarks from the other side of that spectrum, how dare they soil our beloved Lord Henry’s memory with such an outdated/improper garb!
Since this event is focused on role-playing, we opted to use a very light rule set. You don’t need a character sheet or spend points to unlock special abilities. Instead your characters abilities are only limited by what you can somewhat realistically portrait.
Nevertheless there are some rules we want everyone to follow:
Here's a list of important updates sent to our WhatsApp group for you to read up on in case you missed them
The year is 1826, in the noble Kingdom of Wyldire. Two years ago, Queen Namira the Judge died of causes up for great public speculation. Her nephew, James the Young, is not old enough to take the throne, so the realm is guided by Regent Charlene Thumbleworth, an old common-born advisor to the late Queen. In the subsequent power vacuum, many factions of noble houses, merchant guilds and religious idealists alike have tried to stake their claim on this time of political uncertainty.
Our story takes place in the border town of Crayford. Situated on the river Stromme and neighboured by mountains full of valuable metals, it serves as a hub not only for trade, but also the production of strategic and luxury goods.
The city of Crayford is dominated by three major noble houses:
Meddling among these major houses are countless smaller ones, trying to increase their own power and influence through various means in this time of political uncertainty. An increasing amount of people are starting to question the divine right of nobles. Séances and strange rituals are rising in popularity as people are looking for answers from higher powers …
With whose interests will yours align? Who will you vote for? Who is worthy of your favour?
